Town Game
TOWN GAME
NYU Game Design Week 1: Minimalism
Team Members: Dylan Imperato, Heejin Jang, Brandon Lopez, Maria Sandu
Overall:
- Resource management style game
- Enemy AI alters a random resource by adding or subtracting a random value from 0 to 1/5 of the current resource limit, at fixed time intervals
- Player loses if the value of any resource goes down to 0 or up to the maximum value (which increases as the player purchases warehouses)
- Inspired by Civilization and Anno 1600
Instructions:
- Control: mouse
- Build buildings to generate and spend resources!
- You lose if your resources go lower than 0 OR higher than the cap!
- The cap starts at 100. Build storage buildings to raise the cap!
- The enemy village will randomly attack every 25 seconds...
- Raise your army to a size of 300 to defeat the enemy village and win the game!
Characteristics:
Stochasticity
- Buildings are deterministic
- Enemy village attacks are non-deterministic
Heuristics
- Resource management and interval changes
Dexterity vs Strategy
- Strategy: Managing resources and buildings
- Dexterity: Timing to make sure your buildings are properly built before every 5 seconds
